Names & Nursery

Today marked sonogram #6. We were thrilled to see that all three babies are still doing great! In fact, I believe that the doctors exact words were "perfect." I was also thrilled to learn that we can now be 100% confident of the babies genders. Even I understood what I was looking at today. I kept telling Rob that with only 99% certainty, there was still room for error. :) So, with that new found confidence, we have decided to officially reveal their names.

Keira Ashleigh
(Pronounced Keer-a)
Previously known as "Baby A"
Already nicknamed Miss K
Has now grown to 13 oz.
She's sitting at the bottom of the pack, holding everything together.

Drake Alexander
Previously known as "Baby B"
Meaning "dragon", the men in my house unanimously chose this name.
Weighed in today at 12 oz.
Was the only one who would cooperate for a full body picture today.
Already being called Fire Breathing Drake.

Taerik Andrew
(Pronounced Tare-ik)
Current weight = 13 oz.
Previously known as "Baby C"
Daddy already affectionately refers to him as T-bone.

Multiples are always labeled in order of proximity to the cervix. However, this does not necessarily define the order in which they will come out at delivery. So, when listing our family members, we have just decided to state them in the order that seems to flow best, regardless of who is actually born first - Taerik, Drake, and Keira. Already being proud parents to Griffen Anthony and Rhys Aaron, we now have GAF, RAF, TAF, DAF, and KAF in our quiver. (Based on each child's initials.)

With my energy quickly dwindling, I have been highly motivated to get the nursery in order before I am completely exhausted. My mom came for a visit this weekend and helped me out tremendously. While there are a few more touches here and there, we are pretty close to being finished. I am hoping that my dear husband can install some semblance of a closet organizer in the not-so-distant future. We also want to get a toy basket and possibly some under the bed storage. Nonetheless, I thought I would share some pics of the current baby nursery. Can you believe we fit all that in one room?

We continue to praise God for His provision and for the ongoing progress of our babies. Since I know that MANY of you have been faithfully praying for me, I would like to give you a few specifics to remember as you bring our family before the throne of grace.

     * That my blood pressure would stay down and not cause any complications.
     * That each baby would continue to grow at the same rate. The doctors watch this very carefully.
     * That the babies could stay inside as long as possible. Milestone #1 is 24 weeks. That is considered the         edge of viability.

"Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace,
that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need."
(Hebrews 4:16)

Nurse Katie on Wheel of Fortune!!!

About the time we learned that we were having triplets, our nurse was in CA for an appearance on Wheel of Fortune. She couldn't tell us any details - only that her episode would air on January 13. Our family had so much fun cheering her on tonight! While she wasn't the big winner, she did end up with almost $20,000.

Katie was with us from the beginning of our embryo adoption journey at the NEDC in Knoxville, TN. She answered numerous questions. She consoled us when the first two babies died in transfer #1. She encouraged us along the way. And, it was Nurse Katie who called us on October 3, 2013 with the results of our first post-transfer pregnancy test - she was pretty certain we were having twins! We were shocked together with the news of THREE. While we have now been transferred to the care of local physicians, we are grateful for her help along the way. Congratulations, Katie!!!
