Soaring Through September and October

September was pretty much consumed with an unforgettable, once-in-a-lifetime, trip with my family to NORWAY!!! It had been on my dad's bucket list to visit the location that his ancestors emigrated from. What a special treat when he called last spring and offered to take his daughters and their husbands along! The trip was truly amazing! At every turn the scenery looked like a postcard and the time spent with family was priceless. Thanks, dad, for the memories and for your extreme generosity to us!

While September was Spectacular,
October was somewhat Ordinary.

My little people are sometimes OVERWHELMING.
Like this chipped-tooth little boy who decided to play in the soot from the grill.
Or to color about 25 square feet of my bedroom wall in markers.
Or to flush four toothbrushes and a contact case down the toilet.
Or to spray two cans of no-stick spray inside my kitchen cabinets.
Or to dump my make-up bag in the bathtub.
THIS IS ALL THE SAME CHILD, PEOPLE!!!

They are sometimes OBLIGING.
Always excited to "help" with cooking and laundry.

Sometimes OPINIONATED.
("Can you just smile for one picture with mommy?")

Sometimes OBEDIENT.
("Take your stools over to the table and eat your lunch." Maybe I should have clarified a bit more.)

Sometimes ONE.
(I LOVE having a little girl to coordinate with!)

Sometimes ONE, TWO, AND THREE
Halloween festivities brought much fun and MUCH candy!

Sometimes ORIGINAL.
Keira has now graduated to her very own big girl bedroom. Despite the pile of books I placed in her nightstand, this one has proven to be her favorite.

Sometimes ORAL. 😀
Triplets first dentist visit!

So, those were my OBSERVATIONS.
From the OVERWHELMING to the ORDINARY
I trust it is very OBVIOUS
that these little people are very LOVED.

August Actions

Highlights of our many August Actions -

Griffen and Rhys had so much fun at our church sponsored JUNIOR CAMP!
Here they are with their cabinmates.

CBC Choir Fellowship
We had a fabulous time at the choir kick-off party we hosted in our backyard. There was food, music, activities, a devotional, and much sweet fellowship. This will hopefully become an annual tradition!

Griffen got BRACES!

Drake got a BLACK EYE!
The bedroom dresser came crashing down on Drake and Keira one Saturday afternoon.
I'm continually amazed at how God protects my children! Drake was totally better by the next day.

School Started at Sunrise Christian Academy
Griffen - 6th grade
Rhys - 4th grade
Dad & Mom - teaching High School Choir

Rhys' teacher, Mrs. Perkins

Rob and I are very excited to begin the new venture of co-teaching high school choir at SCA this year. Here is the music building where we meet each morning from 8:05 - 8:52 AM.

Rhys' 9th Birthday!
Rhys invited three friends to a Wingnuts baseball game and fireworks show, a sleepover complete with movie and popcorn, Monkey Bread for breakfast, and Saturday morning fun at the park.

Total Solar Eclipse
Our family took a day trip to Geneva, Nebraska to watch the total solar eclipse with some friends. Pictures and video's can't really do justice to the awe inspiring majesty of Creator God.

Grandpa & Grandma Bjokne came for a weekend visit.

 Rob's 35th Birthday!
He was well remembered by family and friends. The triplets especially enjoyed going to Dollar Tree to pick out gifts for dad. You can only imagine how thrilled he was to receive a Princess balloon, a Nemo balloon, and a Mickey Mouse balloon.

Awana Cubbies Started

My babies continue to amuse!

Video Recap of August

I have been reading through the book of Daniel in my personal Bible study recently and have come to love the following verses (6:3-4). Daniels testimony of excellence and faithfulness have also become my prayer!

"Then this Daniel became distinguished above all the other high officials and satraps, because an excellent spirit was in him. And the king planned to set him over the whole kingdom. Then the high officials and the satraps sought to find a ground for complaint against Daniel with regard to the kingdom, but they could find no ground for complaint or any fault, because he was faithful, and no error or fault was found in him."

July Livin'

Fourth of July -
Festivities included our annual breakfast at the Hartzell's House, the Derby parade, and fireworks in the evening.

We took a short trip to Minnesota to celebrate Rob's grandparents
70th Wedding Anniversary.
We are SO thankful for the godly heritage they have established for our family and their
genuine testimonies of Christian love and faithfulness!

(When did we become a family that needed two hotel rooms???)

Our family presented the honored guests with.....fidget spinners.
(Just trying to keep them in touch and relevant with the current culture.)

Gorgeous weather recently in Kansas has provided many opportunities for outside fun.

We have now graduated to the master bathroom for our nightly cleaning ritual.
Getting. So. Big.
(Taerik = 37 lbs., Drake = 34 lbs., Keira = 39 lbs.)
