January's Journey

With all the Christmas decorations packed neatly away, we eagerly welcome 2017!
While we do not know what lies ahead, we pray that this New Year will draw us closer to our Savior and bring more glory to His name!

"You do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes."
(James 4:14)

Love, love, love these little boys!

Leave it to Keira to find an escape route from the church nursery.

Just hangin' out.

Words cannot express how much Keira just adores her older brother. At bed time, I tuck the triplets all in and give them hugs and kisses. On more than one occasion, Keira has pushed me aside and announced, "No. I kiss Giffen."

Rob and I enjoyed a rare date night while free babysitters (I mean, grandparents) were in town for a short visit. We enjoyed a delicious dinner, followed by a painting class. Not sure what we're supposed to do with two of the same painting, but it sure was fun!

(I honestly had no idea just how long I could realistically keep creating these monthly videos, but I just love watching them so much and I know how special they will be to our family in the future. So, here's another month for the archives.)

Describing December

There were so many delights that dazzled us this December!
Our family was involved in SIX different Christmas programs this year, along with two Saturday rehearsals. (While this consumed much of our month, pictures were only taken at programs where mom and dad were simply spectators and not actively involved.)

Griffen played with the 5th grade band at the SCA instrumental concert.

SCA 5th graders performed for the annual car giveaway at Rusty Eck Ford in Wichita. Extra exciting was the fact that a SCA teacher actually won the drawing!!!

Rhys' 3rd grade class performed for two different nursing home Christmas parties.

The triplets were not so dazzled by Santa, though he was certainly the topic of MUCH conversation. While Keira eventually warmed up to the jolly old man, Taerik could often be heard declaring, "I punch Santa. I no like Santa."

Our family enjoyed a quiet Christmas Eve together, complete with Monkey Bread for breakfast, presents, and an exciting drive throughout Wichita to look at lights.

The triplets were pretty excited about the new bikes they got! And once they can actually learn to work the pedals, it will be so much more exciting than simply rolling down our driveway.

Christmas Day was spent in Sunday morning worship, followed by fellowship with this sweet family, who not only recently joined our church, but are also our neighbors.

And then there was my annual attempt at Christmas pics of my kiddos. Though not the Pinterest model I had hoped for, I feel like we have at least made some progress. And since, they are entering the New Year fully potty trained, I am willing to give them some grace.

2016

A few final highlights included dad taking Griffen, Rhys, and a friend to see the new Star Wars movie (whatever it's called), making Star Wars snowflakes, and online Rubix cube tutorials.

And with that another year is in the books. We are praising God for His goodness and looking forward to His leading in 2017.
